Scott joined Durward Jones Barkwell & Company LLP (DJB) in February 2015 as a manager of Economic Loss Quantification in the Hamilton office. Scott completed his Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree at McMaster University in 2005 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008.
Scott began his career providing assurance, accounting and tax services to individuals and privately held companies. Since January 2008, Scott has been practicing exclusively in forensic accounting, focusing primarily on economic loss quantification.
In August 2011 Scott completed the Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting from the University of Toronto and was granted the designation of CA, IFA, a specialist designation in investigative and forensic accounting. This designation has since been replaced with the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) designation, which Scott obtained in 2014.
Scott has experience working with both plaintiff and defense lawyers as well as quantifying losses for many insurance claims. Scott’s experience includes: personal injury and commercial litigation, income replacement benefits, business interruption claims, lost profits, fraud investigations, and stock losses.
Scott is currently enrolled in the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators professional program to obtain the Chartered Business Valuator designation.
After attending McMaster University, Scott remained in Hamilton where he lived with his wife until 2012. From July 2012 to January 2015, Scott took the opportunity to work in Winnipeg to gain valuable experience. Scott has always been an active member of the community, serving as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Brain Injury Services in Hamilton and as the Treasurer for the Manitoba Association of Insurance Professionals.
Scott currently lives in Lynden with his wife. During his free time you will find Scott playing volleyball or baseball. Scott is also an avid outdoorsman and spends much of his free time fishing or camping.
