Bennie has extensive experience in providing business, financial and tax consulting services to owner-managed companies. His specialty areas include restaurant, hospitality, and franchising sectors, helping owners prepare business plans and financial projections for start-up and refinancing requirements. His work in the tax consulting area includes corporate reorganizations, business valuations and matrimonial disputes.
He worked as a sole practitioner in public practice in the Hamilton and Stoney Creek region for over 20 years before joining DJB as the resident Partner of the Stoney Creek office in 2002.
As part of his public service activity, Bennie is now serving as the President of the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce since September 2006, and he serves on the Board of Directors for the Villa Italia Retirement Home acting as treasurer.
He also serves on a volunteer basis with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO), and the Contact CA Program. This is an organization that meets regularly with key provincial members of parliament on matters of concern to the accounting profession.
Since 1984, Bennie has been working as a part-time instructor in business Studies at Mohawk College.
Bennie qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 after graduating from McMaster University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
