Beginning July 1, 2010, the province of Ontario will adopt a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).
Businesses in Ontario that are registered for GST will be required to collect and report HST according to their current GST filing frequency. In order to meet the implementation date of July 1, retailers and service providers are urged to ensure that point-of-sale, cost and accounting systems are adequately updated.
